Some tips to increase cultural relationships within training

- Provide team situations to learn from each individual
- Mirror customs or behaviour to build rapport
- Use name and ask for clarification if name is hard to pronounce. Do not avoid using the participants name
- If providing food/lunch find out if any customs or religious beliefs as you may offend
- Speak to individuals before the session or via email to ask if any special requirements are needed
- Some cultures do not shake hands or look at you straight in your eyes. Watch participants behaviour before offering hand. It may be out of respect and you may offend. Again mirror participants behaviour.
- Do not over involve or under involve the participant in the training
